Reduced entry fee until May 6th
The Organising Committee of the KIA Windsurfer European Championship 2026 in Attersee is pleased to announce an extension of the reduced entry fee deadline until 6th of May 2026.
We currently have 127 entries to date and look forward to welcoming more participants.
As previously advised, due to production lead times, personalised lycras will no longer be available for entries submitted after 30 April. This remains the final cut-off date for customised items.
Wind Conditions at Lake Attersee
Lake Attersee offers good sailing conditions in late spring, making it an ideal venue for the KIA Windsurfer European Championships.
While no location can guarantee wind at all times, Attersee is well known for its reliable spring conditions. As temperatures rise, the thermal “Rosenwind” frequently develops, delivering steady winds typically ranging from 8 to 20 knots.
In unsettled weather, sailors may experience shifty westerly or southerly winds, which can occasionally exceed 20 knots, although stronger conditions are uncommon.
Spring is widely regarded as the best wind season on Attersee, often providing more consistent conditions than the hotter summer months. This is why the lake regularly hosts high-level international sailing events during this period.
